The decision to create the department was based on the analysis of contemporary social and cultural situation in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and caused by the intention to make a contribution to the implementation scientifically based management technologies in the social and cultural issues, training of qualified specialists with advanced technologies sociocultural and economic knowledge.

Since the preparation of the overall profile of Management graduates work in different areas, not only social and cultural sphere, but also in the management of tourism.
